Incoloy 800 series bar covers three grades on one iron-nickel-chromium base: Alloy 800, its creep-controlled 800H variant and the higher-temperature 800HT. Incoloy 800 (UNS N08800) resists oxidation and carburization in hot atmospheres, and the series holds strength where stainless steels sag.

Incoloy 800 series bar is produced through a melting and remelting route selected for the ordered grade. For 800H and 800HT, solution annealing at a minimum of 1121 °C and grain size verification are added control points. Test results are recorded against the heat number.

Mechanical Properties

Minimums are taken from the ASTM B408 rod and bar tables and change with grade and condition. Alloy 800 can be supplied hot-worked as-worked, while 800H and 800HT are supplied solution annealed. Confirm the ordered grade and condition at quotation.

Forging-quality bar is furnished to chemical requirements and surface inspection only, without mandatory tensile values. Above about 593 °C (1100 °F), the grades separate in creep-rupture strength, with 800HT holding the highest stress-rupture life. Grade selection therefore follows duty temperature rather than room-temperature strength.
