Monel Bar and Rod

Monel bar supplied to ASTM B164 - stock, custom sizes, global export.

Our Monel bar and rod collection brings together Monel 400 and K-500 - supplied as round, square and forged bar and rod for corrosive, high-temperature and strength-critical service across chemical, energy, marine and process industries.

Monel is a nickel-copper alloy with excellent resistance to seawater, brackish water and a wide range of acids and alkalis, plus good strength and toughness from sub-zero to moderate temperatures. K-500 adds aluminium and titanium for age-hardened strength while keeping the seawater resistance.

We supply Monel bar and rod from about 6 mm up to 300 mm diameter, with square, hex and forged shapes available, in the hot-rolled, cold-drawn or forged, in the solution-annealed or age-hardened condition, with ends, surface and tolerances prepared to order. Stock items, cut-to-length and made-to-order dimensions are available, every lot shipped with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate and third-party inspection on request.

Applications

Monel bar and rod are machined and forged into components that must hold strength and resist attack in aggressive service:

Marine & offshore

propeller shafts, pump shafts, valve trim and fasteners in seawater (400, K-500).

Chemical processing

caustic and hydrofluoric acid handling, heat exchangers (400).

Oil & gas

sour-gas and downhole components resistant to chloride stress cracking (K-500).

Salt production & brine

evaporators, drums and fittings (400).

Architectural & coinage

corrosion-resistant trim and marine hardware (400).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What diameter range can you supply for Monel bar and rod?

Bar and rod from from about 6 mm up to 300 mm diameter, with square, hex and forged shapes available; both stock and custom sizes are available, cut to length.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Stock sizes from one piece; mill lengths or heavy plate are priced per project. Tell us the grade, size and quantity for a quote.

Do you provide MTC / EN 10204 3.1?

Yes - every lot ships with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate, and third-party inspection can be arranged.

What is the typical lead time?

Stock items ship within days; made-to-order material is typically a few weeks depending on size, condition and certification.

Can you supply non-standard sizes or conditions?

Yes - custom sizes, non-standard walls or special tempers are available on request; we also offer cutting and surface preparation.

What is the difference between 400 and K-500?

400 is the work-horse nickel-copper grade for general seawater and acid service; K-500 adds aluminium and titanium for age-hardened strength while keeping the corrosion resistance - use it where shafts and fasteners need higher strength.
