PRODUCT OVERVIEW

About Hastelloy C-22 Pipe and Tube

Hastelloy C-22 Pipe and Tube is supplied in UNS N06022 / W.Nr. 2.4602, a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with chromium above 20%. Tubular product carries that chemistry into acid, bleach, and chloride service where one stream mixes oxidizing and reducing attack.

Grade-level composition, standards, and mechanical minimums sit on the Hastelloy C-22 hub. The other two forms are covered on the Hastelloy C-22 Bar and Rod and Hastelloy C-22 Plate and Sheet pages.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Key Features of Hastelloy C-22 Pipe and Tube

Hastelloy C-22 pipe and tube covers seamless product to ASTM B622 plus welded pipe to B619 and welded tube to B626. Because B622 stops at 88.9 mm outside diameter, larger lines move to welded construction. Chromium above 20% resists nitric acid, wet chlorine, and oxidizing chloride salts, while molybdenum carries the reducing side. Every welded length leaves the plant solution annealed. EN 10204 3.1 certificates and heat-level traceability back chemical, bleach, and sour-service projects.

Oxidizing-Acid Tubulars

Nitric acid lines and oxidizer-bearing streams meet a chromium-rich bore that stays passive.

01

Wet Chlorine and Bleach Service

In addition, hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide, and moist chlorine transfer duty needs this chromium level.

02

Ferric and Cupric Chloride Duty

Also, pickling, etching, and leach circuits that carry oxidising salts come from the same tube.

03

Pitting and Crevice Control

Moreover, a molybdenum level near 13% holds localized attack back in brine and chloride liquor.

04

Chloride Stress-Cracking Immunity

Above all, the nickel-rich matrix shrugs off chloride-induced cracking that splits austenitic stainless grades.

05

Seam Ductility Evidence

Therefore, B622 applies flare and flattening tests that tube expansion into tubesheets requires.

06

Full Eddy-Current Coverage

Besides, B626 welded tube passes 100% eddy-current or ultrasonic examination before release.

07

Sour-Service Tubulars

Meanwhile, H2S piping travels with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 hardness records.

WHY CHOOSE US

Why Choose Hastelloy C-22

Tubular C-22 splits by standard rather than by size alone. Seamless product stops at 88.9 mm outside diameter under B622, so larger lines move to welded pipe or tube. We match the route to the duty before quoting.

01

Route Split at the B622 Limit

Seamless coverage ends where B622 ends, and we quote welded product beyond that point rather than a document that does not apply.

02

Weld Filler Matched

Moreover, seams run with ERNiCrMo-10 filler to AWS A5.14, which keeps joint chemistry in step with the parent tube.

03

Tests Fixed at Order

Besides, hydrostatic, eddy-current, PMI, and third-party witness join the job as your specification requires.

04

One Thread to Dispatch

Order handling, inspection records, packing, and export papers stay with a single coordinator.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Reliable Production For Critical Applications

A C-22 tubular order follows melt, hot working, cold finishing, and a water-quenched anneal before the mill releases it. However, the exact sequence moves with the standard, gauge, and acceptance level you order.

01

Charge Preparation

Nickel, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and iron are weighed into the N06022 window before melting starts.

02

Melt Refining

VIM or AOD treatment holds carbon and silicon inside the limits that protect weld zones.

03

Shell Formation

Billets take a pierce or extrusion pass into seamless shells, while welded product begins as flat-rolled coil.

04

Cold Finishing

Cold pilgering or drawing brings heat-exchanger and precision tube down to final outside diameter and wall.

05

Solution Annealing

Material passes through 1121 °C, then takes a rapid water quench that dissolves intermetallic phases.

06

Welding and Re-Annealing

Welded lengths receive an ERNiCrMo-10 seam, then a full solution anneal and quench.

07

Testing and Release

Our operators pickle and dimension-check each length, run hydrostatic or eddy-current tests, and release it against the ordered acceptance level.

Manufacturing Facility

MANUFACTURING CAPABILITY

Advanced Production For Nickel Alloy Products

The C-22 window runs from small condenser tube through heavy welded pipe. Before production starts, we check the order against the rolling and annealing plan. That plan, once you approve it at quotation, is the plan that leaves the plant.

20,000+ m²

Factory Area

Rolling, welding, and heat-treatment halls sit on a single site.

50+

Production Machines

Cold pilgering, drawing, welding, and finishing lines share one quality system.

600 Tons

Monthly Capacity

Nickel alloy tubular tonnage per month, spanning stock sizes and made-to-order runs.

30+

Technical Engineers

Metallurgists settle the anneal and test scope against the process medium.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Strict Quality Control From Production To Delivery

Chemistry, mechanics, dimensions, and surface all clear before any length leaves the bay. The work runs inside our ISO 9001 system. On top of that, each shipment carries a 3.1 certificate, and third-party inspection can join the order.

01

Heat Chemistry Verification

Spectrometry confirms the N06022 window, with carbon and silicon printed beside chromium and molybdenum.

02

Tension and Hardness Results

We measure tensile, yield, and elongation on the condition and wall you ordered.

03

Dimensional and NDE Records

Outside diameter, wall, straightness, and finish carry their own records, alongside hydrostatic or eddy-current results.

04

Certificate Pack

Finally, each certificate names the heat, so a single length traces back to its melting charge.

Chemical Composition

Limits for the tubular family follow one window across B622, B619, and B626 for UNS N06022. Chromium above 20% drives oxidizing resistance, molybdenum and tungsten hold the reducing and pitting side, and carbon stays at 0.015% max to protect the welded seam. Even so, the purchase specification in force decides acceptance.

Element Content
Nickel (Ni) Balance
Chromium (Cr) 20.0–22.5%
Molybdenum (Mo) 12.5–14.5%
Tungsten (W) 2.5–3.5%
Iron (Fe) 2.0–6.0%
Cobalt (Co) 2.50% max.
Manganese (Mn) 0.50% max.
Vanadium (V) 0.35% max.
Silicon (Si) 0.08% max.
Carbon (C) 0.015% max.
Phosphorus (P) 0.020% max.
Sulfur (S) 0.020% max.

Mechanical Properties

Minimum values below come from the governing tubular document in the solution-annealed condition. Because C-22 holds one yield floor across every form, the same 310 MPa figure covers seamless and welded product alike.

Product Form Standard Condition Tensile Strength Yield Strength, 0.2% Offset Elongation
Seamless pipe and tube ASTM B622 Solution annealed ≥690 MPa (100 ksi) ≥310 MPa (45 ksi) ≥45%
Welded pipe ASTM B619 Solution annealed after welding ≥690 MPa (100 ksi) ≥310 MPa (45 ksi) ≥45%
Welded tube ASTM B626 Solution annealed after welding ≥690 MPa (100 ksi) ≥310 MPa (45 ksi) ≥45%

B622 adds hydrostatic, flattening, and flare testing to seamless product. B626 brings a 100% eddy-current or ultrasonic examination, which suits exchanger duty. C-22 carries no aerospace AMS document, so aerospace tube follows the project specification or the ASTM document named on the order.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which standard covers Hastelloy C-22 seamless tube?

Seamless product is ordered to ASTM B622, welded pipe to B619, and welded tube to B626. Code jurisdiction swaps in the ASME SB editions.

What outside diameter does B622 cover?

B622 limits seamless pipe and tube to 88.9 mm (3.5 in) outside diameter, supplied solution annealed and descaled. Larger lines move to welded pipe or tube under B619 or B626.

Do welded lengths need heat treatment?

Yes. Both B619 and B626 call for a full solution anneal and water quench after welding, so as-welded product meets neither document.

What is the maximum service temperature for the tube?

ASME caps continuous service at 1250 °F (677 °C). However, the medium, its concentration, and the pressure rating usually set the working ceiling.

Is the tube suitable for sour service?

Sour orders run to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 with per-heat hardness records, so upstream projects can file the evidence their material review needs.

What is your MOQ for Hastelloy C-22 pipe?

A single length serves most stocked sizes, and we quote trial pieces without a premium.

What are your trade terms for Hastelloy C-22 pipe?

We quote FOB by default and add EXW, CIF, or DAP alternatives on request.

How is Hastelloy C-22 pipe priced?

Weight in kilograms drives the price, against the outside diameter, wall, and condition you order.

What is the lead time for Hastelloy C-22 pipe?

Stocked sizes ship in 7-15 days, and made-to-order or heavy-wall pipe follows the confirmed schedule.

Do you provide EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 certificates?

Yes. Each consignment carries an EN 10204 3.1 certificate, and third-party 3.2 endorsement follows on request.
