Hastelloy B-2 Bar and Rod is a nickel-molybdenum alloy supplied to UNS N10665 / W.Nr. 2.4617, with very low chromium content. Its high molybdenum content provides strong resistance to hydrochloric, sulfuric, and other reducing acids, making it suitable for demanding chemical processing environments.

Reliable Production For Critical Applications

We melt Hastelloy B-2 from nickel, molybdenum, and iron, then keep iron and chromium very low. The alloy is solution annealed and rapidly quenched, because it loses corrosion resistance if cooled slowly through the mid-temperature range.

Mechanical Properties

Hastelloy B-2 is not age-hardenable, so any strength above the annealed minimum comes from cold work. Bar for corrosion duty is usually ordered to a hardness ceiling as well as a strength floor.
