Alloy Bar and Rod

Alloy bar supplied to ASTM B473 - stock, custom sizes, global export.

Our Alloy bar and rod collection brings together Alloy 20 and 59 - supplied as round, square and forged bar and rod for corrosive, high-temperature and strength-critical service across chemical, energy, marine and process industries.

This collection covers corrosion-resistant specialty nickel alloys beyond the named families. Alloy 20 (20Cb-3) resists sulphuric acid and chloride pitting with niobium stabilisation; Alloy 59 is a high-chromium, molybdenum-rich alloy with exceptional resistance to oxidising acids, chlorides and crevice corrosion, with tolerance close to the C-series.

We supply Alloy bar and rod from about 6 mm up to 300 mm diameter, with square, hex and forged shapes available, in the hot-rolled, cold-drawn or forged, in the solution-annealed or age-hardened condition, with ends, surface and tolerances prepared to order. Stock items, cut-to-length and made-to-order dimensions are available, every lot shipped with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate and third-party inspection on request.

Below is the grade-by-grade specification overview, the industries we typically serve, and answers to common supply questions before you request a quote.

Applications

Alloy bar and rod are machined and forged into components that must hold strength and resist attack in aggressive service:

Chemical & petrochemical

sulphuric acid plants, pickling equipment and reactors (Alloy 20).

Pollution control & FGD

scrubbers and ducts in mixed acid/chloride service (Alloy 59).

Pharmaceutical & food

high-purity, corrosion-resistant process parts (Alloy 20).

Marine & offshore

seawater and brine handling with strong pitting resistance (Alloy 59).

Heat exchangers & vessels

aggressive multi-acid environments (Alloy 20, 59).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What diameter range can you supply for Alloy bar and rod?

Bar and rod from from about 6 mm up to 300 mm diameter, with square, hex and forged shapes available; both stock and custom sizes are available, cut to length.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Stock sizes from one piece; mill lengths or heavy plate are priced per project. Tell us the grade, size and quantity for a quote.

Do you provide MTC / EN 10204 3.1?

Yes - every lot ships with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate, and third-party inspection can be arranged.

What is the typical lead time?

Stock items ship within days; made-to-order material is typically a few weeks depending on size, condition and certification.

Can you supply non-standard sizes or conditions?

Yes - custom sizes, non-standard walls or special tempers are available on request; we also offer cutting and surface preparation.

How do Alloy 20 and Alloy 59 compare?

Alloy 20 resists sulphuric acid and chloride pitting with niobium stabilisation; Alloy 59 is a higher-chromium, molybdenum-rich grade with broader tolerance to oxidising acids and crevice corrosion. Choose 59 for the most aggressive mixed-acid duty.
