Three footnotes shape the table above. First, the yield requirement does not apply below 0.020 in. (0.51 mm). Second, N08810 and N08811 sheet and strip are available only at 0.115 in. (2.92 mm) and heavier, and the strip elongation minimum drops away below 0.010 in. (0.25 mm). Third, as-rolled plate may take a stress relief after final rolling, and plate ordered as suitable for hot forming carries no tensile or hardness requirement when the purchaser names grade 800 or 800H.

Which standard covers Incoloy 800 plate and sheet?

ASTM B409 / ASME SB409 for rolled plate, sheet, and strip, with B906 carrying the general requirements. In addition, bar moves to B408 and seamless tube to B407.

Why can I not buy 800H sheet below 2.92 mm?

ASTM B409 limits UNS N08810 and N08811 to 0.115 in. (2.92 mm) and heavier in sheet and strip form. Below that gauge, the controlled-carbon grades are not available.

Does grade 800 have a grain size requirement?

No. The coarse-grain clause names UNS N08810 and N08811 only. Therefore, grade 800 carries no annealed grain size limit unless your order specifies one.

Which temper should I order for plate?

As-rolled 800 plate carries the higher minimums at 550 MPa tensile and 240 MPa yield. Therefore, choose it where strength matters more than ductility, and annealed where forming comes first.

How thick can the plate be supplied?

Hot-rolled plate runs from 3 mm to 100 mm on the standard route. Furthermore, heavier sections go forward as forged or rolled blanks.

Can you supply cut-to-size or circular blanks?
