Dimensions, Mechanical Properties & Heat Treatment

Monel K-500 (UNS N05500) combines corrosion resistance with precipitation hardening capability. Its mechanical strength is achieved through controlled heat treatment after forming.

Mechanical Properties (Aged Condition)

Tensile Strength: ≥ 690 MPa
Yield Strength: ≥ 380 MPa
Elongation: ≥ 20%

Strength significantly higher than Monel 400 after precipitation hardening.

Heat Treatment Condition

Solution Annealing: 980–1000°C, water quench

Aging Treatment (Hardening):
480–620°C for precipitation strengthening

Controlled aging is essential to achieve high strength and corrosion resistance balance.

Production Condition

All pipe and tube products are supplied in solution annealed condition and can be aged after fabrication depending on final service requirements such as offshore load, pressure rating, and fatigue conditions.
